What your donations are used for:
Through the Woodside Community Foundation, donations from riders and sponsors have allowed WHOA to gift over $110,000 to several important projects including the restoration of the historic Folger Stable, the Woodside Junior Riders Program, the Maintenance of Equestrian and Pedestrian Trails in the Woodside Trail System, County Parks and MROSD, Large Animal Rescue Equipment, and the Veryl Goodnight Sculpture "Spring and Sprite" in downtown Woodside.
How you can help:
Each year over 120 volunteers donate countless hours to making Day of the Horse a success. But for this important participation from the community, the event would not be possible. Please consider lending a hand whether it be in the weeks and months before event day or on the day itself. Fill out and return our volunteer form and we'll contact you shortly. Thank you! (Volunteer Form)
Why this fund is important:
Woodside owes its very existence and appeal to horses. Horsepower built Woodside, horse people have enriched it, horse trails have enhanced it, and horse properties have protected it from development. As a result, Woodside’s open lands and rustic charm are as coveted as rare gems in the congested San Francisco Bay Area. This valuable asset needs diligent protection. Recognizing its debt to the horse, the value of its ranching history, the resulting attraction of its rural nature and ensuing economic benefits, Woodside actively protects its equestrian legacy and trail system through legislation, volunteerism, and its General Plan.
